Superintendent Emergency Coverage
If the Superintendent is temporarily absent, the succession of authority and responsibility of the position shall follow a succession plan developed by the Superintendent which shall be reported annually to the Governing Board.

In developing the succession plan, the Superintendent shall designate at least one other Senior Leadership Team member who is familiar with the Governing Board’s process and current issues of concern and is capable of assuming Superintendent responsibilities on an emergency basis.

If the Superintendent is absent for an extraordinary length of time, or the Superintendent position becomes vacant, the Governing Board may meet to appoint an interim administrator to fulfill the duties of the Superintendent.

Administrator Emergency Coverage
If a Building or Department Administrator is temporarily absent, the succession of authority and responsibility of the position shall follow a succession plan developed by the Administrator and approved by the Superintendent and updated as needed.
