Immunizations of Student

Section J - Students

Policy Title: Immunizations of Student
Policy Code: JLCB
Lead Department: Health Services

Print Version (in PDF)

Subject to the exemptions as provided by law, immunizations are required for attendance of any student in any District school. A student's immunization record must be submitted prior to attendance, although a student may be conditionally enrolled provided that necessary immunizations have been initiated and a schedule has been established for completion of the required immunizations. A student who is eligible by definition of homeless under the McKinney Vento Act and all refugees will be referred to the Welcome Center.

Any student with serologic confirmation of the presence of specific antibodies against a vaccine-preventable disease shall not be subject to immunization against that disease as a condition for attending school.

The District will cooperate with county and state health departments in programs of immunization. Pursuant to A.R.S. 36-673 (D), appropriate permission must be secured before a student may participate in such immunization programs.
