EXCEPTION TO BOARD POLICY ON WALK LIMITS FROM OLD FARM APARTMENTS TO WHITMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The entrance to Old Farm Apartments is 1.47 miles from the school; however, many apartments inside the complex are outside 1.5 miles. This request is based upon the actual mileage being longer then 1.5 miles.
There are no significant safety issues.
Whitmore students only walk 0.1 mile along Grant Road on sidewalks separated by safety zones. The remainder of the walk path has low traffic volume and residential areas.
Recommended walk path maps were provided to each TUSD school site in accordance with State and District requirements. All maps are updated annually.
